AI Has the IQ. You Need the Wisdom.

Frontier models now write code, draft strategy, and answer customers — fast and
fluent. They already excel at the tasks themselves. IQ has been commoditised. The output is
cheap; the pace is relentless.
So why do most AI initiatives still underperform — and why are they so brutally hard to
scope, estimate, and manage? Why does shipping feel faster and exhausting at the same
time? Why are teams burning out next to tools that were supposed to save them?
A field report from inside an ongoing AI transformation — and an argument that in the age of
cheap intelligence and infinite pace, wisdom and experience aren't legacy assets. They
might be the only moat left.

Discussion Panel with speakers

If your data platform feels like a needy pet that constantly wants feeding, refactoring, and “just one more” capacity check, this session is for you.

In this session, we’ll look at how to turn your Fabric workspace from a chaos goblin into a semi-responsible adult. This session targets data engineers, BI developers, and platform owners who are tired of babysitting DAX, debugging mysterious Python, and staring at capacity metrics like it’s the stock market on a bad day.

We’ll start by flipping the right switches to enable Fabric IQ, so you don’t accidentally demo in “nothing works” mode. Then we’ll let IQ loose on your DAX and Python, showing how it can suggest refactors, simplify logic, and generally make your code look like it was written by someone who slept last night. From there, we’ll move into automated capacity monitoring so you can stop guessing which workload is setting your tenant on fire.

You’ll also see how to squeeze more performance out of parquet file compression without turning your data lake into a forensic crime scene. Finally, we’ll show how ontologies can feed your Data Agents enough structured business knowledge that they stop hallucinating new KPIs in the middle of a meeting.

Attendees will leave with practical patterns, ready-to-steal ideas, and a clear picture of how Microsoft Fabric IQ can make their analytics environment faster, cheaper, and far less dramatic—no therapy sessions required.

When Correct Results Are Still Wrong: Data Correctness Lessons from Modern Data Platforms

Modern data platforms can produce results that look correct and still fail the business. In this session, I will show why data correctness is much more than successful pipeline runs, matching row counts, or syntactically valid SQL.
Using practical examples from modern analytics platforms, I will explain where correctness breaks in real projects: non-deterministic transformations, duplicated processing, late-arriving data, flawed merge logic, reconciliation gaps, and hidden assumptions in migration and lineage work.
This is a deeply technical session focused on engineering reality rather than marketing promises. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for designing data processes that are deterministic, testable, auditable, and trustworthy.
